It took me about two weeks to mentally grasp how much money I flashed around on a daily basis.
Ten dollars for us is a days wages to most of these guys.
I went to buy a beer and all I had was a 500 bhat bill. (15.00$)
I handed it to him and he said, you serious?
By the time I understood what he just said, he told me, "you wait" and took off down the beach, it took him a good ten to fifteen minutes to find Someone with enough money to change out my 500.
People had to search for change a few times like this until I learned to carry smaller change..
