Christmas in Eden

During the holidays ko phanagn is famous for hosting these HUGE multiple day beach parties where thousands of people from every country come and fill up the beaches.
The beaches are all lined with international DJ's, huge sound systems, plywood bars selling "the bucket" which is a sandpail filled with 4 types of liquor and some soda.
Combine that with rich European college kids and you've got an ugly picture on your hands..
Anyway, these parties are pretty much a swarming mass of drunk fighting British people, some making out in the surf some stumbling about bottles and garbage everywhere. I'm a crazy guy but when I entered the beach, saw all this noise and garbage I was actually pretty shocked, a little horrified too!
I hung out with the right people when I got here who knew that some local folks have put together parties intended to be for a higher quality crowd, that enjoy mingling with interesting people from all over the world.
I was lucky enough to meet some people my age who knew there way around and they showed me the right beach to go to.
And the first thing I learned is this island can be fun, but you have to make some friends and find out where the quality fun is.
I ended up dancing the night away at some of the most paradise like places I've ever seen..
So word was going around that on christmas there was very special party called the Eden party.
It was rumored to be on the top of a mountain on an extremely remote part of the island.
So 5 of us wanted to try to make it to Eden for Christmas and that was the start of a whole new crazy adventure.
Getting to Eden is my next post..
