Got up this morning and started trying to find my way to the car rental place so I could return my car.
I was going the wrong way but before I could turn around two young monks in robes flagged me down. I couldn't understand them but I knew they wanted a ride so I let them in.
In this country giving aid or alms to a monk is considered a very good thing to do.
For them to take a ride from a foreigner was a definite honor.
I didn't know where they were going so I just kept driving.
apparently they werent going anywhere particular because after 30 minutes the oldest monk said "you stop we eat".
I declined gave a bow and went back the way I came.
Before they left the younger one gave me two hand made string bracelets.
Lots of smiles and bows then I went back the way I came.
It took me about 3 hours of driving in circles after this and asking for directions maybe 5 times before I found the rental place..
Not gonna miss driving in Thailand!
